Tom Cruise Notes
"I eat life" LOL such a great quote.
"Every actor has their own voice and what turns them on and what they like. It's not analytical; it's instinctual. It is their own voice...[and that is what is needed to make movies]". AWESOME quote because
"What I want in a performance is I want it to be spontaneous; I want it to be now. Not you know happening in the past. We try to work towards getting rid of the mechanics, the technique. Let's find the spontaneity. With the power of my own imagination or my own ability to believe or my own creative idea of what I've created here it just happens, it just happens; it just goes. And I don't judge it. And there's times where as an actor where I'm working and I feel nothing and I don't panic and go "oh my god I feel nothing!" I always take from the point of view of "okay well that's interesting. I don't invalidate. I don't fight what's going to happen. I din't try to create. I've done my work. It gets inside of you see that it's just there. And when youre there you just want to fly and play jazz."
What I would say for the pearly gates questions: She would say (god is a definitely a babe, possibly androgenyous, but at the very least a babe), So SHE would say, "Wow, you rock! I could say that in a way that would take 10 years of detailed explanation, but I'll be concise, you rock!" Because I know that she'd know all the details of my life and I'd remember most of them so having this long drawn-out explanation of what my life meant or what I did or didnt do would be redundant, so I'd be overjoyed if I got the rolling waves of heaven and She (god) jsut says "you rocked life, you rock!" :D
Surmised, I think that may mean, you do your work, your preparation like mad -- THAT is your work, so then when it's game time and you actually have a contract, salary, and acting Job, you can relax and know whatever you feel (or dont' feel) is fully 150% totally valid! :D.
Cool Acting Tip. Tom Cruise. Write a whole HISTORY to the character. Where did they begin? What have they been through. Their history. COOL way to get going with great persona to then match up to the script!
This guys AMAZING role-model hero. Attractive, sexy, appleaing to babes, NICE, amazing actor, GREAT Dancer, he HAD and HAS it going on in every dimension. The dude rocks! Cruise is a gentleman, intelligent, but he doesn't care about intelligence THAT's the thing. he has fun and is a player too, but can then go and be genuine and sincere too. Puts thought into his words.
What cruise does THE Best, that I used to do and must resume, is you look into a point in space slightly below the horizon without eye contact and make your script and think of what you're going to say, then when you deliver it, you make eye contact.
Had his step-father pay him $900 a month. And if you subract rent and utilities, I'm getting $500, much of which goes to internet and car, because I was trying to do a lot of web design at the time -- gumball site, romantic web page, life coaching site, blog active, etc.
Brilliant words normalcy ; it odesn't EXIST!!! :D LOL No one is normal.
His Agent, Paula Wagner , was the SHIT sounds like AMAZING, THE agent. awesome.
Scorcese's generosity and love for actors. NICE.
I need to brace myself for "weird shit" shit and people and things that may say stuff I wouldn't expect. That's preperation for what you can't prepare for is NECESSARY and huge because
MAN!!!!!!!!!!!! Born on the 4th of july seens looked soooo much like and sounded so much like arguments at 428 with hellish "get out of the house shit".
Paula Wagner looks like Laura hearn...weird!
He has the intelligence, , humbleness, smartness of jimmy davis, too.
dude he flies and owns planes did not r ealize that.
The Image of an Actor as The Product
WOW! :D IT IS image!!! The People that work with Tom Cruise in a business sense (his agent, publicist, manager etc), Kevin Huvane, Rick Nicita, and Pat Kingsley are always working on securing not Tom Cruise, but his IMAGE!!! :D Image is NOT some surreal hoofey-doofy aura bs wavelength crap it's a business product!! Tom Cruise's image of the ultimate heartthrob was what made and does make him huge amounts of coin and it's why the best agency, CAA, works with him! That's fascinating because that's what Breck was talking about "image". Image is NOTHING abou fruedian-jungian-archetypes (well they're images too) but he was talking about IMAGE in the business-entertainment sense. How people see you. Tom Cruise's movies sell HEAPS because of his image as a heartthrob! But then STRANGELY enough....it was his sister Lee Anne Devette that apparently kept him so anchored from pulling the "Oprah stunts" which I didn't think of as that destructive at all, but the media hype DID. NOW I finally see the lens through which agents, publicists, acting managers and the like see actors -- as a product, but the actor themselves is NOT the product, it's their image that's the product. It's the image of the actor that sells. It was tom cruise's image (not tom cruise himself) but his image that garnered 5 consecutive $100+ million films!! Now of course, the actor creates the image, but other people most certainly help shape and mold and anchor it. THAT's amazing. That's the career, actually earning money, business side of acting I've been blind to and am now finally parts of which I am finally understanding! Sweet :D!
Wow. So extrapolating this totally new concept to me of the actor's image as a product
But i mean I can see why some actor's do and don't do Inside the Actor's Studio: it has a huge potential (potentially uplifting, potentially destructive, mostly always uplifting though) impact on image. I mean during Cruise's Inside the Actor's Studio, you could almost just literally see how all of his CAA crew in the Front Row -- Wagner, Nicita, The head CAA manager dude Huvane -- were almost just like monitoring their image-product investment!! It wasn't disturbing nor "wrong" it's just the nature of the business. I think it's awesome! To finally understand the relationship there with actor image and agency and the business side of a creative performer.
Yepp.....yepp...sigh...yeppp yepp this settles it. I'm an actor. I study actors. I try to learn from actors. I believe in actors. I hate christianity, i'm a touch bit buddhist and hindu, but I'm all actor. I'll either be a successful or unsuccessful actor, it's as simple s that. Right now, I feel I've got some great talent, but I'm a god-awfully Unsuccessful actor. But success doesn't frame talent. I just am going to continue to do everything I can to prepare for success! :D

Christian Bale Freakout

I find the fact that these famous, successful and (atleast in regards to Bale) talented performers have and occasionally display rage, a relief; it shows they have real, unpolished, emotion --just like some of us, like you, like myself, like normal people experience.
